Why the need
Under-Inflated Tyres or or overloading will...
  • Increase fuel consumption
  • Create more air pollution
  • Cause excessive wear on the tyre-shoulders
  • Produce excessive heat that will damage the tyre
  • Impact on the control of the vehicle
  • Increase the risk of tyre failure
  • Increase braking distances
Over inflated tyres may cause...
  • Inferior vehicle handling
  • Reduced comfort
  • Poor grip
  • Greater risk of tyre damage
  • Reduced stability when braking and cornering

Neglecting to check inflation pressures is one of the principle causes of rapid shoulder wear, uneven tread wear and premature tyre failure.

Pressures should be checked at least every two weeks and only when the tyres are cold.

HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR TYRE PRESSURES RECENTLY?

Tyre manufacturers have learned that 75% of all accidents caused by tyre blowouts come about because of low tyre pressure.

Deformed by extreme flexing, tyres also overheat because of excessive air movement inside and are quickly worn out. A particularly hazardous combination is a maximum load and insufficient tyre pressure in warm weather and at high speeds on the motorway.

Note that if your car is heavily loaded, tyre pressure should be increased. Remember it is not the tyre itself, but rather the pressurised air in the tyre that bears the load. Yet the risk can be easily avoided.

A little effort, for a BIG RESULT

It is so easy to avoid the risk. If you want to be able to rely on your tyres, do your bit to keep them in optimum shape by monitoring your tyre pressures - it could save your life!
